Editor for Music Video, Chicago

Hey filmmakers, I'm Amara Okafor, a documentary filmmaker working on an independent music video project and I'm looking for a talented editor to join the crew. This is for a vibrant, high-energy Afrobeats track, so we need someone who can capture that rhythm and create a visually dynamic cut. We're looking for someone with a strong sense of storytelling through editing, even in a non-narrative context. Your key responsibility will be to assemble raw footage, refine sequences, and help shape the overall aesthetic and flow of the video. You should have your own editing suite, preferably with Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve. Experience level is open, from emerging talent to seasoned pros, but a strong reel showcasing your style and previous work (especially music videos) is essential. We will be shooting sometime in mid-July. This will be a flexible, project-based role, likely a few full days or several half-days of editing, with specific hours to be determined based on your availability and the project timeline. I can provide all necessary footage and assets. Compensation is TBD and will be discussed based on experience and the scope of work.
