Film Editor, Short Thriller (New Orleans)

Seeking a talented mid-level Film Editor for an upcoming independent short film. This is a suspenseful thriller with a dark, psychological edge, exploring themes of isolation and paranoia. We're aiming for a tight, impactful narrative that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. The final cut will be approximately 15-20 minutes. Key responsibilities include assembling footage, refining pacing, collaborating closely with the director on story structure, incorporating sound design elements, and preparing files for color grading. You should be proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve Studio and have your own editing workstation. We're looking for someone who can bring a strong narrative sensibility and a keen eye for detail to craft a compelling visual and emotional experience. Shoot dates are set for late July in New Orleans, and we anticipate post-production to begin shortly thereafter, likely spanning 3-4 weeks for the initial assembly and fine cut. We're flexible on exact hours but expect a dedicated commitment to meet deadlines. Compensation is $300-500/day, depending on experience.
