Gaffer (Pilot Episode, Drama)
Hey filmmakers, my name's Sam and I'm a boom op working on a really cool upcoming indie drama pilot. We're looking for a Gaffer to come aboard. It's a gritty, character-driven story set in a New York City underground boxing scene, think a mix of “Creed” meets “Shameless” in its tone, focusing on a young fighter's struggle with his past. We've got a fantastic script and passionate crew, but we need someone to really shape the look and feel with lighting. As our Gaffer, you'll be responsible for executing the lighting plan, managing our small lighting team (we're a tight-knit group!), and ensuring we get those cinematic shots. You should have some mid-level experience on set, ideally with drama or narrative work, and a reel showcasing your eye for dramatic lighting. Bonus if you have your own basic lighting kit, although we'll have a package as well. This is a passion project, so it's a volunteer position, but a great opportunity to get some strong narrative work for your reel and connect with a dedicated team. Shoot dates are looking like late April / early May, primarily weekends and some evenings, roughly 10-12 hour days. We'll provide craft services and meals. We're all in this together to make something special, so please, if you're a skilled Gaffer looking to contribute to a compelling story, shoot me a message with your reel and a little about yourself!
