Gaffer (Mid-Level) - Feature Film

Hey Atlanta film community, we're on the lookout for a talented mid-level Gaffer for an upcoming independent feature film. This project is an intense psychological thriller with some real mind-bending twists, set mostly in and around a secluded lake house. We need someone who can help us craft a moody, tension-filled visual atmosphere. Your primary responsibility will be executing the lighting plan, working closely with our DP to bring their vision to life. This includes setting up and striking lights, managing power, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed, especially concerning water-based shots, which there will be a few of. Experience with various lighting units, generators, and distribution systems is a must. A strong portfolio or reel showcasing your gaffing work, particularly with dramatic or genre projects, is essential. We're aiming to shoot late summer, early fall, probably a 4-week schedule, 10-12 hour days. This is a passion project for a small production company, so we're offering a partnership on the back end, a revenue share arrangement. We'll provide lunch and some basic equipment, but ideally, you'd have access to a small lighting package or preferred rental relationships.
