Gaffer for Quirky NYC Commercial Shoot

Looking for a Gaffer to join our small, independent production for an upcoming commercial project in New York, NY. This is a quirky, visually driven commercial for a national brand, featuring a lot of practical effects and a playful, vibrant aesthetic. We need someone who can help us light creatively on a smaller scale, bringing a fresh perspective to our practical lighting challenges. Your key responsibilities will include collaborating with the DP on lighting design, setting up and striking lighting equipment safely and efficiently, and managing our small grip and electric team. We're open to all experience levels, from seasoned professionals to enthusiastic emerging talent. We value passion and a can-do attitude over extensive credit lists. While we'll have some gear on hand, ideally you’d have access to a basic kit of lighting instruments, stands, and grip equipment, or be able to source them affordably. Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for late May or early June, spread across 3-4 days, with some prep days beforehand. Days will be standard 10-12 hour shoots. We'll be providing craft services, lunch, and travel stipends for specific locations if needed. Compensation for this project is deferred, offered as a backend percentage.
