Camera for Documentary

Seeking a talented Senior Camera Operator for an upcoming independent documentary project focusing on the untold stories within LA's vibrant underground art scene. We're exploring the challenges and triumphs of a collective of street artists using unique, innovative techniques. The tone is observational, gritty, and visually driven, aiming for an intimate, vérité feel. Key responsibilities include operating various camera systems, collaborating closely with the director to achieve the desired visual style, and troubleshooting on set. You'll be responsible for capturing compelling footage, often in dynamic, fast-paced environments. We require applicants to have significant experience (5+ years) as a documentary camera operator, showcasing a strong eye for visual storytelling and a deep understanding of natural lighting. You should own your own primary camera package (e.g., Sony FX9, Canon C300 Mark III, Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro G2) and a basic lens kit. Please submit a reel demonstrating your documentary work. Shoot dates are approximately 15-20 days over a 6-8 week period, primarily weekdays, 10-12 hour days. Compensation is $200-400 per day, depending on experience and gear package.
