Director for Sci-Fi Web Series

Seeking an experienced mid-level Director for an independent sci-fi web series, an exciting serialized adventure exploring themes of artificial intelligence and human connection. This project blends gritty realism with speculative fiction, aiming for a grounded yet visually striking aesthetic. You'll be responsible for bringing our vision to life, working closely with the Cinematographer and cast to achieve impactful storytelling. Key responsibilities include: blocking scenes, guiding actor performances, overseeing shot selection, and maintaining creative consistency across episodes. We're looking for someone with a strong visual style and excellent communication skills. Applicants should have a proven track record, ideally with experience directing narrative short films, web series episodes, or similar short-form content. Please include a link to your directing reel or relevant work demonstrating your storytelling capabilities. While we'll have standard production gear available, directors with personal equipment that can enhance the production are a plus, but not required. Shoot dates are approximately 10-12 days over a 3-4 week period in late summer or early fall. We anticipate 10-hour days including breaks. Compensation is $500-800 per day, negotiable based on experience. Meals, craft services, and transportation within Toronto will be provided. Looking forward to seeing your work!
