Directing for Music Video
Hey filmmakers, Nelson here (Rigging Gaffer on a few past gigs). We're looking for a fresh director to helm an independent music video for an upcoming artist. It's a high-energy track, sort of alternative pop with a dreamy, slightly melancholic vibe. We want something visually interesting, leaning into creative practical effects and smart camera work to tell the story, not just a performance piece. As director, you'll be responsible for developing the visual concept, leading the shoot, and guiding the editorial process. We need someone who can show us a reel, even if it's student work or short film excerpts, that demonstrates a strong visual style and ability to tell a story creatively. While you won't need to provide a full gear package, familiarity with common camera setups and lighting approaches is a plus. We'll be shooting over 2 days, likely mid-May, 10-12 hour days. We'll provide lunch and transportation from a central NYC location. This is a great opportunity to get some paid work and build your directorial reel on an exciting, collaborative project. Looking forward to seeing your work!
