Art Department Assistant, Feature Film

Los Angeles, CA. This independent feature film needs an Art Department Assistant for approximately 3 weeks of work, starting late September 2026. We are shooting a gritty, character-driven drama exploring themes of resilience in a dystopian near-future. The film has a dark, atmospheric tone and requires creative problem-solving with practical effects and set dressing. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the Production Designer and Art Director with prop sourcing, set dressing, material organization, and on-set support. This is a hands-on role; you'll be helping to bring our world to life. We're looking for someone enthusiastic with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude. Some experience on student films or indie shorts is a plus, even if it's not directly in art department. A portfolio or examples of your creative work (even personal projects) are helpful, but not required for this entry-level role. Compensation is $200-400 per day, depending on experience. We're a small production company, so adaptability and a collaborative spirit are key. We will provide transportation to and from set for specific tasks if needed, and all necessary tools and materials will be supplied.
