Art Department for Feature Film

We need a skilled Set Decorator to join our art department for an independent feature film. This project is a character-driven, dark comedy with surrealist elements that demand a unique and evocative visual style. We're looking for someone who can translate conceptual ideas into tangible, impactful set dressing, contributing significantly to the film's distinctive tone. Your primary responsibility will be sourcing, acquiring, and arranging all set dressings and props for various locations, working closely with the Production Designer to ensure aesthetic consistency and narrative accuracy. You'll manage the set dressing budget, coordinate with local vendors, and oversee the practical application of decor on set during production. We're seeking a senior-level professional with a strong portfolio showcasing experience in feature films or high-end episodic content. You should have a deep understanding of period and contemporary decor, a keen eye for detail, and excellent organizational skills. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation in Portland. Please provide a link to your reel or portfolio demonstrating relevant work. Shoot dates are approximately 25-30 days in September 2026, with prep starting late August 2026. Working hours will be standard 10-12 hour days. Compensation is $100-200/day, depending on experience. We'll provide all necessary materials, tools, and a dedicated set dressing budget.
