Assistant Sound Designer, Indie Feature

We need an Assistant Sound Designer to jump in and support the post-production sound team for an upcoming independent feature film. This is a gritty, character-driven drama set in modern-day London, exploring themes of resilience and urban isolation. We're aiming for a very naturalistic, immersive soundscape that enhances the emotional journey without feeling artificial. Your responsibilities will include assisting with sound effects editing, dialogue cleanup, Foley recording support, and general administrative tasks for the sound department. You’ll be helping organize assets and preparing sessions for mixing, so a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills are crucial. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience on a feature film. We’re looking for someone with entry-level experience, perhaps a recent film school graduate or someone with experience on several short films. You should have a good working knowledge of industry-standard DAWs (Pro Tools preferred) and a basic understanding of sound theory. Please submit a reel or portfolio showcasing your sound editing or design work, even if it’s from student projects. We’re providing the studio space and all necessary software. The post-production schedule is flexible but we anticipate needing support for approximately 8-10 weeks, starting in late September, at 3-4 days per week. Specific hours will be discussed. This is a paid position, offering between $300-500 per day, depending on experience.
