Editing for Web Series
Hey fellow filmmakers, I’m a location scout working on an independent sci-fi web series and we're looking for a talented mid-level editor based here in Albuquerque. This project is a gritty, character-driven sci-fi thriller, exploring themes of resistance and survival, with a raw, indie aesthetic. We’ve wrapped principal photography and are now moving into post, aiming for a quick turnaround for festival submissions. Your primary role will be assembling raw footage, creating a strong narrative flow, implementing basic sound design, and working with our director to hone the pacing and visual storytelling. Experience with color grading is a plus, but not essential. You'll need to have your own editing suite, preferably running DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere. We're looking for someone with at least 3-5 years of editing experience, particularly with narrative projects, and a strong reel demonstrating your storytelling abilities is a must. Shoot dates were late spring, so all footage is ready to go. We anticipate editing will be a 6-8 week commitment, with flexible hours but an expectation of consistent progress. This is a deferred compensation role, offering a percentage of points plus a deferred fee to be paid upon project acquisition. We're a tight-knit crew, passionate about this story, and looking for someone who shares that dedication. If you're ready to dive into a compelling sci-fi world, please send over your reel and a brief intro.
