Grip for Indie Feature, New Orleans

Feature Film Lighting New Orleans, LA entry Budget: $150-300/day

Hey everyone, DeShawn Lambert here. I'm helping crew up an upcoming independent feature film shooting in New Orleans and we're looking for a dedicated Grip to join our lighting team. This is a gritty, character-driven drama, with a dark, atmospheric tone, so we're building some really cool looks. It's a chance to get some hands-on experience and really contribute creatively on set. Your main responsibilities will include setting up and striking lighting stands, flags, diffusion, and various grip equipment under the direction of our Gaffer and Best Boy. We're looking for someone who is quick on their feet, understands basic set etiquette, and is eager to learn and grow. Prior experience on a set is definitely preferred, even if it's just student films or shorts. While we don't expect you to own a full grip package, any personal tools (gloves, C-wrench, etc.) would be appreciated. We'll be providing all major grip and lighting gear. This is an entry-level position perfect for someone looking to break into the industry or gain more experience on a feature. Shoot dates are tentatively planned for late spring, early summer, for approximately 15-20 days. Days will be 10-12 hours. Compensation is paid, ranging from $150-300 per day, depending on experience. Please send over a resume or a brief summary of your experience if you're interested. Looking forward to hearing from you!
