Gaffer

Feature Film Production New York, NY any Budget: TBD

Hey everyone, Kevin here. I'm bringing on some crew for an independent feature we're prepping. It's a dark comedy, kind of a Coen Brothers vibe but set in modern-day NYC, with some really interesting character dynamics. We're looking for a Gaffer, someone with a good eye for lighting and practical setups for interiors and exteriors. You'd be overseeing the lighting plot, managing grip and electric, and working closely with our DP to translate their vision. This means everything from shaping light to ensuring safety on set. We're open to all experience levels, from folks looking to step up to gaffer for the first time on a feature to seasoned pros. What's most important is a strong work ethic and good communication. Ideally, you'd have your own basic kit, but we can discuss rentals and equipment needs as we go. Please share your reel or a portfolio of your recent work. We're targeting late spring, early summer for principal photography, approximately 4-5 weeks. Specific dates are still TBD. We'll handle craft services and a per diem for on-set days. Flexible on remote work for pre-production planning.
