Production Designer, Sci-Fi Short (Vancouver)

Hey Vancouver crew. I'm Gaffer Jason Fong, and we're looking for an enthusiastic Production Designer for an upcoming independent sci-fi short film. Think atmospheric visuals, a blend of dystopian grittiness and subtle futuristic aesthetics. We're aiming for a strong festival run, and a striking production design will be key to making it stand out. As our Production Designer, you'll be responsible for developing the overall visual style, creating concept art, sourcing props, and overseeing set dressing. We'll be shooting in and around Vancouver, so local knowledge is a plus. This is an entry-level partnership opportunity, meaning we're all investing our skills and time into this project for a share of any future profits or festival earnings. You should have a solid understanding of visual storytelling and a strong artistic eye. A portfolio or reel showcasing your design work, even from student films or personal projects, is essential. We have some basic tools and materials, but your creativity and ability to work resourcefully are what truly matter. Shoot dates are tentatively planned for late spring/early summer, likely 4-5 full days. We'll provide craft services and a great, collaborative environment. Looking forward to seeing your work!
