Gaffer (Mid-Level), Indie Feature, NYC

Feature Film Cinematography New York, NY mid Budget: $250/day flat

Hey everyone, Elena Rodriguez here. I'm producing an upcoming independent drama feature, and we're on the hunt for a talented Gaffer. The film is a character-driven story with a grounded, intimate tone, set primarily in a Brooklyn apartment. We're aiming for a naturalistic, atmospheric look that truly elevates the performances. It's a really compelling script, and we're excited about the visual possibilities. As our Gaffer, you'll be responsible for executing the Director of Photography's lighting plan, managing our small but dedicated lighting crew, and ensuring all electrical safety protocols are met. We're looking for someone who can work resourcefully and creatively within our budget. You should have a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, equipment, and power distribution. Ideally, you'll have 3-5 feature-level Gaffer credits under your belt. Please have a solid reel or online portfolio showcasing your work on narrative projects. We're providing a basic lighting package, but familiarity with various LED and HMI units is a plus. Shoot dates are approximately August 5th - August 28th, Monday-Friday, 10-12 hour days. We'll provide lunch and craft services daily. This is a great opportunity to contribute significantly to a passion project with a phenomenal cast and crew. Looking forward to seeing your applications!
