Directing for Pilot

Pilot Directing New Orleans, LA senior Budget: $250/day flat

After a global blackout, a charismatic leader emerges promising a return to light, but at a terrible human cost. We're seeking a seasoned Director for a compelling sci-fi drama pilot shooting in New Orleans. This isn't just another post-apocalyptic story (the tone is gritty, character-driven, and visually ambitious, leaning into atmospheric tension and practical effects where possible). Your primary responsibilities include translating the script to screen, guiding performances, collaborating with department heads, and overseeing all creative aspects of blocking, shot selection, and pacing during production. We're looking for someone with a strong visual style, a history of tight storytelling, and proven leadership on set. You'll need a reel demonstrating your directing prowess, especially in narrative. Approximate shoot dates are 10-12 days in late September, early October. Days will be long (10-12 hours). We'll handle all permitting, locations, crew, and equipment, including an A-cam package. This is a paid position, $250/day flat, for a demanding but rewarding independent production that aims to hit festival circuits. Must be local to New Orleans or willing to work as a local.
