Director, Feature Doc on LA Skate Culture

This independent production is looking for a senior Director for a feature-length documentary exploring the vibrant, underground skate culture of Los Angeles. We want someone who can bring a raw, authentic, and cinematic vision to this project, something that really captures the energy and stories of these communities. Key responsibilities include shaping the narrative, guiding interviews, establishing visual style with the DP, and leading the crew on set. We're looking for someone with a strong background in documentary filmmaking, specifically experience directing feature-length projects. You should have a proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and a clear understanding of independent production workflows. Please have a compelling director's reel ready for review. Gear will be provided for the shoot. We're planning for approximately 20-25 shoot days over a 6-8 week period, primarily weekends and some weekdays, with flexible hours depending on location and subject availability. The daily rate is $250, flat. This is a great opportunity to tell a unique story with a passionate team.
