Directing for Short Film

Looking for a talented Director for an upcoming independent short film, a psychological thriller with a dark, atmospheric tone. This project explores themes of isolation and paranoia, offering a compelling narrative that will challenge and engage our audience. We're aiming for a festival run, so a strong visual storyteller is key. Your responsibilities will include bringing the script to life, guiding performances, and collaborating closely with our small, dedicated crew. We'll be relying on your creative vision to shape the film's overall aesthetic and emotional impact. We need someone with mid-level directing experience, specifically with short films or music videos that showcase a strong narrative voice. Please provide a link to your directing reel or previous work. While we'll have essential gear (camera, lighting package), having your own basic directing kit (monitor, slate, etc.) would be a plus, but not strictly required. Shoot dates are approximate, targeting 3-4 days in late summer/early fall in the Vancouver, BC area. Days will be 10-12 hours. Compensation is $200-400 per day, depending on experience.
