Director: Dark Comedy Web Series, Chicago

We are seeking a senior-level Director for an upcoming independent web series, a darkly comedic look at the absurdities of life in a modern office. Think Office Space meets Curb Your Enthusiasm, with a unique visual style that highlights the mundane and then twists it into something extraordinary. This is a chance to really flex your creative muscles and bring a distinct vision to a compelling narrative. Key responsibilities include leading pre-production, collaborating closely with the DP and showrunner, guiding performances, and overseeing the shoot to ensure a cohesive and impactful final product. We're looking for someone who can craft sharp, nuanced performances and has a keen eye for visual storytelling within a comedic framework. You'll be working with a dedicated crew and a talented cast. Applicants should have extensive experience directing narrative content, preferably with some web series or short-form work under their belt. A strong reel demonstrating your artistic vision and ability to handle comedic timing is essential. While we will provide essential production equipment, comfort using common digital cinema cameras (like Blackmagic or Sony FX series) is a plus. Shoot dates are TBD but will likely span 10-12 days over 3-4 weeks in late summer, early fall. This will be a full-day commitment during principal photography. We are offering competitive daily rates of $300-500, commensurate with experience, and meals on set.
