Director, Sci-Fi Short Film (Atlanta)

Hey Atlanta filmmakers, I'm helping a good friend find a Director for an upcoming sci-fi short film. This is an introspective piece focusing on themes of isolation and humanity's place in the cosmos, with a strong visual storytelling emphasis. We're looking for someone with a unique vision to bring this narrative to life. As Director, you'll be responsible for creative leadership from pre-production through post, including shot listing, working with actors to develop performances, and guiding the overall aesthetic. We're seeking someone with a strong sense of visual style and a passion for science fiction. Ideal candidates will have directed several short films before, so mid-level experience is key. Please have a solid reel that showcases your dramatic storytelling and visual capabilities. While we're not expecting you to bring a full camera package, foundational gear knowledge is important. Shoot dates are tentatively set for late July, over 3-4 days (flexible, pending crew availability). We're offering an equity partnership in the film, meaning we're all invested in its festival run and potential distribution. We'll handle catering and have some production design resources.
