Associate Producer, Chicago Documentary

Hey filmmakers, I'm helping a colleague cast for an Associate Producer for an upcoming independent documentary project here in Chicago. It's a really compelling film focusing on the city's unsung community heroes, aiming for a hopeful and inspiring tone without shying away from challenges. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the lead producer with scheduling, coordinating logistics for interviews and shoots, managing permits, and contributing to outreach efforts. Experience with independent documentary production is crucial. We need someone who understands the ins and outs of a busy set and can effectively communicate with various crew members and subjects. Familiarity with local Chicago resources and contacts is a big plus. Please have a strong organizational skillset and a reliable vehicle. Shoot dates are still being finalized but anticipate several weeks of filming in late summer, early fall, primarily weekday hours, but some weekend flexibility might be needed. Compensation for this role is TBD, pending experience and overall fit. We'll be providing all necessary production-related equipment and covering project expenses.
