Editing for Documentary
We are seeking a mid-level editor for an independent documentary exploring the vibrant underground art scene in Atlanta. This project dives into the unique stories of emerging artists, showcasing their creative processes and the challenges they face, offering an intimate and thought-provoking look at the city's artistic pulse. We're looking for someone who can craft compelling narratives from raw footage and bring a fresh perspective to our storytelling. Your key responsibilities will include ingesting and organizing footage, assembling rough cuts, refining edits, incorporating feedback, and assisting with color correction and sound mixing in collaboration with other team members. We need someone proficient with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve) and who has a strong understanding of documentary storytelling techniques. Experience working with vérité footage and interviews is a big plus. Please provide a link to your reel showcasing relevant work. This is a volunteer position, but we will provide meals during working hours and a copy of the final film for your portfolio. We anticipate editing will begin in late summer and continue through the fall, with flexible hours. We're a small, dedicated team passionate about this story and excited to welcome a talented editor aboard.
