Documentary Editing Toronto, ON any Budget: Negotiable

Seeking an Editor in Toronto for an independent documentary feature, starting work in late October 2026. This is a powerful, character-driven story exploring the underground music scene in the city, focusing on the journeys of several emerging artists. The tone is raw, intimate, and authentic, aiming to capture the energy and challenges of pursuing art. We're looking for someone with a strong sense of narrative and rhythm, who can help us shape hours of verité footage into a compelling cinematic experience. Key responsibilities include assembling sequences, crafting impactful emotional arcs, sound design, and working closely with the director to refine the cut. We anticipate approximately 8-10 weeks of editing work, potentially extending. Applicants should have prior experience cutting documentary content and a keen ear for music and dialogue. A strong portfolio or reel demonstrating your storytelling abilities is essential. Please note your preferred editing software, ideally Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve Studio. Compensation for this role is negotiable and will be discussed during the interview process. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute significantly to a meaningful and artistically driven project.
