Editing for Feature Film

A coming-of-age story about a young artist finding her voice in the vibrant streets of Miami, we're seeking a skilled Editor to join our independent production. This feature film blends drama with magical realism, requiring a keen eye for pacing, character development, and subtle visual storytelling. You'll be instrumental in shaping the narrative flow, managing dailies, assembling scenes, and collaborating closely with the director to achieve our artistic vision. Key responsibilities include organizing footage, creating rough and fine cuts, incorporating sound and music elements, and preparing for color grading and sound design. We're looking for someone with at least 3-5 years of experience cutting features or substantial narrative shorts, preferably with a strong understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro. Please have your own editing workstation and relevant software. Experience working with a deferred compensation structure on independent films is a plus. We anticipate needing about 10-12 weeks of dedicated editing work, starting in mid-October 2026, primarily in Miami, FL. While this is a deferred compensation project (points + deferred), it offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute significantly to an exciting, character-driven story.
