Senior Editor, Feature Documentary
This independent feature documentary explores the compelling rise of underground protest art through the eyes of the artists themselves. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Editor to shape our extensive footage into a powerful and cohesive narrative. You will be responsible for crafting the film's structure, pacing, and emotional arc, working closely with the director. This is a crucial role for a seasoned professional with a strong storytelling sensibility for long-form documentary. Key responsibilities include organizing rushes, assembling rough cuts, refining picture and sound edits, incorporating feedback, and preparing for final post-production stages. You should be proficient in Avid Media Composer or Adobe Premiere Pro and have a portfolio demonstrating your ability to handle large volumes of documentary footage. A strong reel with previous feature documentary work is essential. This is a deferred compensation position, ideal for someone passionate about the subject matter and looking to contribute to an impactful independent film. We anticipate approximately 10-12 weeks of full-time work, starting around October 3, 2026, based in our Los Angeles editing suite. While we provide the editing workstation and software licenses, any personal equipment or specialized tools you bring are a bonus.
