Entry-Level Production Designer, Indie Feature

Our upcoming independent feature film, a gritty, character-driven drama set in modern-day Los Angeles, needs an entry-level Production Designer. We're exploring themes of resilience and the pursuit of dreams, with a grounded, realistic aesthetic that should feel lived-in and authentic. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build their portfolio on a challenging and meaningful project. You will work closely with the Director and Cinematographer to translate our vision into tangible environments, managing set dressing, props, and overall visual continuity. Key responsibilities include sourcing and acquiring set pieces, overseeing their placement, and maintaining the film's visual tone throughout production. We're looking for someone with a strong artistic eye, excellent organizational skills, and a genuine passion for storytelling through design. Some prior experience on student films or shorts is a plus, and a portfolio or reel showcasing your design sensibilities is required. Basic tools for set dressing and prop handling would be helpful. This is a deferred compensation project with backend percentage participation, ideal for a passionate emerging talent. Prep will begin around October 12, 2026, lasting about 3-4 weeks, with an expected 15-day shoot period shortly after. We will provide a small budget for design expenses.
