Gaffer (Swing) for Indie Short Film - Miami

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Gaffer (Swing) for an upcoming independent short film shooting in Miami. This is a dramatic thriller with a moody, atmospheric tone, exploring themes of psychological suspense. We're looking to create visually striking, high-contrast imagery that enhances the narrative tension. As Gaffer (Swing), you will be responsible for executing the lighting plan, working closely with the Director of Photography, and managing all lighting equipment on set. This includes setting up and striking lights, gels, flags, and other grip gear, ensuring safety, and problem-solving on the fly. You'll need to have practical experience with various lighting setups, a strong understanding of electricity, and the ability to work efficiently within a small crew. Please have your own basic G&E kit, and proficiency with LED fixtures and small HMIs is a plus. We welcome entry-level professionals with a solid reel showcasing your lighting work, even on passion projects or student films. Anticipated shoot dates are 3-4 days in late July (specific dates TBD), with 10-hour days. We will provide lunch, craft services, and transportation for equipment. Pay is $300-500/day, depending on experience and kit provided. Looking forward to seeing your work!
