Gaffer (Senior) for New York Web Series

Hey there, I'm Elena, a producer on an upcoming independent web series, and we're on the hunt for a senior Gaffer to join our crew in New York City. This is a dramatic comedy, think 'slice of life' with a quirky edge, exploring themes of friendship and self-discovery. We've got a fantastic script and a passionate team, just need someone to help bring our vision to light, literally! As our Gaffer, you'll be responsible for executing the lighting plan, leading a small lighting crew, and ensuring our scenes look absolutely fantastic. We'll rely on your expertise to shape the mood and atmosphere for our D.P. and director. You'll also manage all lighting equipment on set. We're looking for someone with extensive experience, at least 5+ years, Gaffing on narrative projects. Ideally, you’ll have your own basic lighting kit (small Fresnels, LED panels, stands) that you're comfortable bringing, though we will have additional rentals as needed. A strong reel showcasing your narrative work is essential. Shoot dates are approximately 5-7 days in late August, and we're planning for 10-hour days. Craft services and some meals will be provided on set. This is a deferred compensation project (points + deferred payment upon distribution), as is common with many independent web series, reflecting our belief in the project's success.
