Gaffer (Entry-Level) for Independent Feature
This job posting is closed.
Hey filmmakers, Nadine here, a script supervisor on an exciting independent feature shooting in Montreal. We're on the hunt for a passionate, entry-level Gaffer to join our crew. Our project is a character-driven drama, with a bit of a psychological thriller edge. We're exploring themes of isolation and redemption, and aim for a visually striking, moody aesthetic. It's a great opportunity to get hands-on experience on a full-length film. You'll be working closely with our DP to shape the look of each scene, managing our lighting equipment, and ensuring everyone's working safely. We're looking for someone who has a basic understanding of lighting principles, electricity, and set safety. Experience with various lighting units and modifiers is a plus, and basic experience with DMX control would be great but isn't required. Please have a portfolio or reel showing any lighting work you've done, even if it's student films or shorts. We're looking at a 15-day shoot, likely late summer or early fall. Hours will be long, typical of indie film, but we're a supportive and collaborative team. We'll provide lunch and snacks on set, and compensate with a backend percentage. Let's make something cool together!
