Gaffer for New Orleans Commercial Shoot

An independent production is seeking a talented Gaffer to join our small, enthusiastic crew for an upcoming commercial project. This is an exciting opportunity to bring dynamic lighting to a visually driven commercial campaign, focusing on capturing the vibrant energy of New Orleans. We're looking for someone creative who enjoys working collaboratively and can adapt to different shooting environments. The tone will be bright and engaging, showcasing local culture with a modern edge. If you have a knack for impactful lighting and a positive attitude, we'd love to hear from you. We're aiming for a strong visual aesthetic with a focus on practical lighting and shaping natural light effectively. Key responsibilities include designing and executing lighting setups, managing lighting equipment, and working closely with the Camera Operator and Director to achieve the desired look. Candidates should have their own basic lighting kit, including some essentials like C-stands, flags, and reflectors, though a significant portion of specialized gear will be provided by production. All applicants must have a reel or portfolio showcasing previous work. We anticipate a 2-day shoot, likely taking place in mid September 2026. Shoot days will be approximately 10-12 hours. We will provide catering, craft services, and water. Compensation is $300-500/day depending on experience and kit.
