Gaffer for Sci-Fi Short (Albuquerque)

Hey filmmakers, we're looking for a talented Gaffer to join our crew for an upcoming sci-fi short film filming here in Albuquerque. This project is a gritty, character-driven piece with a strong visual style, think early Ridley Scott meets elevated genre. We're aiming for something visually striking and emotionally resonant within its sci-fi premise. As our Gaffer, you'll be responsible for designing and executing our lighting plan, working closely with the DP to bring their vision to life. This includes managing the lighting crew (if applicable), power distribution, and ensuring overall safety on set. We're looking for someone with solid experience Gaffing on independent productions, a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, and the ability to problem solve on the fly. Please have a current reel or portfolio showcasing your work. Shoot dates are approximately 4-5 days around late August or early September 2026, likely a 10-12 hour day. We're still locking down specific dates but can be flexible for the right person. We'll provide all necessary grip and electric gear. This is a paid position, $200-400/day depending on experience.
