Gaffer for Sci-Fi Short Film

Hey everyone, Raj here. I'm a focus puller on an independent production and we're on the hunt for a skilled Gaffer for our upcoming sci-fi short film. It's a really cool concept, a psychological thriller with a strong sci-fi element, aiming for a dark, atmospheric, and visually stunning aesthetic. We're looking for someone who can translate a director of photography's vision into practical lighting solutions and really elevate the look of this project. Your main responsibilities will include collaborating with the DP to design and execute the lighting plan, leading the grip and electric team, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and managing all lighting equipment. We need someone with at least mid-level experience in short film or indie features, a solid understanding of various lighting techniques, and the ability to work efficiently within a small crew. Please have your own basic lighting kit available (we'll provide specialized gear as needed), and a fantastic reel showcasing your work. Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for late September, early October, primarily on weekends, and some evenings, likely 10-12 hour days. Craft services and transportation to and from set will be provided. Compensation is negotiable depending on experience. Send over your reel and a brief intro about yourself.
