Gaffer (Senior) - Documentary - NYC

We are seeking a senior Gaffer for an upcoming independent documentary series exploring the vibrant underground arts scene in New York City. This project delves into often unseen creative communities, capturing raw and authentic moments. We're looking for someone who can bring a keen eye for evocative lighting, understanding how to enhance natural environments while maintaining a documentary aesthetic. You'll be responsible for all lighting setups on location, working closely with our cinematographer to achieve desired looks, and managing a small lighting crew. Experience with various lighting instruments, grip equipment, and power distribution is essential. Please have a strong portfolio demonstrating your work on similar documentary or independent film projects. We anticipate shoot days to be approximately 8-10 hours, with some flexibility required for interviews and event coverage. We'll be shooting primarily in Brooklyn and Manhattan, with some travel within the boroughs. We provide all necessary lighting and grip gear. Shoots are scheduled for late July and early August.
