Leadman, Sci-Fi Pilot (October 2026)

Looking for a skilled Leadman for an independent sci-fi pilot shooting in Los Angeles in October 2026. This is a mid-level Art Department role with a negotiable rate. Prep work would begin around mid-September 2026, leading into an approximately 7-day shoot. We're telling a grounded, near-future sci-fi story with a gritty, atmospheric tone, focusing heavily on practical sets and unique prop builds. It's a character-driven piece exploring the impact of advanced tech on everyday life. Your main responsibilities will include managing set dressing, props, and practical effects under the guidance of the Production Designer, overseeing set construction and strike, and supervising other Art Department crew members. We need someone who can work independently and solve problems creatively on a smaller budget. You should have at least 3-5 years of experience in the Art Department, specifically as a Leadman or Set Dresser, and a strong eye for detail. Experience with basic carpentry, prop fabrication, and set dressing is essential. A portfolio or reel showcasing your work is required. We'll be providing all necessary materials and tools, but having your own basic kit is a plus. Hours will be standard 10-12 hour days during the shoot.
