Lighting for Web Series
Hey Austin film fam, Bryce here. We're looking for a skilled Gaffer for an upcoming independent web series, a dark comedy with a unique look. The project is a character-driven story with some fantastical elements, so we'll be playing with light to create specific moods and enhance the visual style. We need someone who can translate the DP's vision into practical lighting setups, manage the lighting package, and work efficiently within our schedule. Your main responsibilities will include executing the lighting plan, working with the grip team, and ensuring all lighting equipment is set up safely and correctly. You'll need to have your own basic G&E package, including C-stands, stingers, and some commonly used grip gear. We'll be renting a specific lighting package based on the DP's needs, so familiarity with various fixtures (LEDs, HMI, tungsten) is important. Please have a reel or a portfolio showcasing your lighting work on previous narrative projects. This is a mid-level position, so we're looking for someone with a few years of experience in narrative film. Shoot dates are approximately 5-7 days in late June/early July, 10-12 hour days. Location is primarily in and around Austin. Lunch and craft services will be provided daily, and we'll cover any necessary expendables. This is a paid position, $300-500/day depending on experience. Looking forward to hearing from you!
