Locations Assistant, Feature Film (Volunteer)
Hey Albuquerque filmmakers! I'm Sofia, a Location Scout working on an exciting independent feature film, a suspenseful psychological drama with some cool sci-fi elements. We're looking for a Locations Assistant to join our team and help us nail down the perfect backdrops for our story. This is a great chance to get your first feature film credit and see the inner workings of a production. As our Locations Assistant, you'll be helping with a variety of tasks, including scouting assistance (driving to potential locations, taking reference photos), organizing permits and releases (collecting signatures, tracking documents), communicating with property owners (scheduling visits, answering questions), and generally supporting the Locations Department. No specific gear is required, just a positive attitude, good communication skills, and a reliable car. Previous set experience is a plus, even if it's just student films. This is a volunteer position, but we'll provide meals on set and, of course, a valuable IMDb credit. We estimate shooting will be for about 4-5 weeks, likely late Q3/early Q4 this year, exact dates TBD. Hours will vary but expect typical 10-12 hour days during prep and production. It's a fantastic opportunity to learn on the job and expand your network in the New Mexico film scene.
