Entry-Level Locations Assistant, Indy Feature
Hey everyone, Drew Campbell here, a Re-recording Mixer working on an upcoming independent feature film. We're looking for a Locations Assistant to join our team in Chicago. This is a dramatic thriller with some dark comedic elements, exploring themes of urban isolation and paranoia. It's a really character-driven story with a few intense set pieces, so we need someone who can help us find the right backdrops to tell our story. Your main responsibilities will include assisting the Locations Manager with scouting, securing permits, coordinating access, and generally helping to keep our shooting spaces organized and film-friendly. We'll need you to be proactive, detail-oriented, and a good communicator. This is a great opportunity to get a foot in the door on a feature film. No specific gear is required, but a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license are a must for getting around Chicago. Prior set experience, even as a PA, is a plus, but we're open to enthusiastic individuals eager to learn. Please include a brief cover letter describing your interest and any relevant experience. Our shoot dates are approximate, looking at late summer, and we anticipate standard 10-12 hour days. We'll provide meals and local transportation during shooting hours. This is a crucial role for our small but dedicated crew, and we're excited to find the right person.
