Music Video Colorist, Senior
We need a senior Colorist to join our independent production team for an upcoming music video project in Chicago. This piece is for an emerging indie rock artist, with a moody, atmospheric tone that blends dream-pop aesthetics with a raw, gritty edge. We're aiming for a distinctive visual style that truly elevates the music, making your eye for color and texture critical. We've shot on a blend of digital cinema cameras and some vintage film stocks, so expertise with varied source material is a must. You'll be responsible for all color grading, ensuring creative consistency across the entire video, and delivering final masters in various formats. This includes initial primary and secondary corrections, creating and applying looks, and client review sessions. We're looking for someone with at least 5 years of professional color grading experience, specifically with music videos or similarly fast-paced, high-impact short-form content. You'll need to provide your own fully equipped color suite, including DaVinci Resolve Studio and a calibrated monitoring environment. Please include a link to your reel showcasing your best work. Post-production will begin around November 8, 2026, and we anticipate approximately 2-3 weeks of work, with a daily rate of $150-300 depending on experience. While you'll be working independently, I'll be in close communication regarding the audio mix, and our editor will provide all necessary prep. We're looking to fill this role fairly quickly, so please submit your application by October 16, 2026.
