Production Designer, Brooklyn Short

A coming-of-age story about a young artist grappling with identity amidst the vibrant, chaotic backdrop of Brooklyn, NY. We're seeking an entry-level Production Designer for an upcoming independent short film, a heartfelt drama with comedic undertones. You'll be responsible for bringing the script's visual world to life, designing sets, sourcing props, and overseeing art direction. Key responsibilities include creating mood boards, collaborating with the director and cinematographer, and managing the art department budget. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience on a professional set and contribute significantly to the film's aesthetic. Candidates should have a strong portfolio showcasing their design sensibilities, an understanding of set dressing and prop sourcing, and a keen eye for detail. Experience working on student films or small independent projects is a plus. While no specific gear is required, familiarity with design software or sketching is beneficial. We anticipate a 1-2 day shoot in October 2026, preceded by about 3 weeks of prep work. Compensation is $100-200/day. Meals and transportation stipends for shoot days will be provided.
