Screenwriting for Short Film

Our independent drama short, titled 'Dust & Echoes,' delves into themes of unspoken grief and reconciliation within a strained family, set against the backdrop of rural Tennessee. We're seeking a passionate entry-level screenwriter to help refine the existing 10-page treatment and develop it into a complete, compelling script. You'll be working closely with the director to ensure the narrative voice and character arcs align with the project's vision. Key responsibilities include outlining, drafting dialogue, and incorporating feedback through several revision rounds. We're looking for someone with a strong sense of storytelling, character development, and a knack for naturalistic dialogue. While no specific gear is required for this role, access to screenwriting software like Final Draft or Celtx is beneficial. Please provide a portfolio or writing samples showcasing your narrative work, ideally a short script or scene excerpts. This is a remote role for the writing phase, but preference given to Nashville-based writers for potential future collaboration. We anticipate approximately 3-4 weeks of focused writing and revision work, with compensation TBD based on experience. This project is a passion piece for our small crew, aiming for festival submissions in late 2026.
