Screenwriting for Music Video

An independent production is seeking a talented mid-level screenwriter to join our creative team for an upcoming music video project. We need someone who can craft a visually driven narrative, working closely with the director to develop a compelling story concept that enhances the artist's song. This project aims for a high-energy, contemporary R&B/Pop vibe, focusing on themes of ambition and journey. We're looking for a fresh, innovative voice to bring a unique perspective to the visuals, moving beyond typical performance-based music videos. The tone will be aspirational and slightly surreal, with strong character beats. Your key responsibilities will include brainstorming initial concepts, developing a detailed treatment, writing the full script (including scene breakdowns and visual cues), and incorporating feedback. We expect about 3 weeks of work, primarily in late October 2026. This is a remote-friendly position, but preference will be given to candidates in the Atlanta, GA area. Compensation is $300-500 per day, depending on experience.
