Screenwriting for Short Film

A dark comedy about a woman whose life unravels when she tries to return a faulty toaster, exploring the absurdities of customer service and modern anxiety. We're looking for an entry-level screenwriter to help us polish and refine an existing short film concept and outline. You'll be responsible for developing character dialogue, tightening the narrative structure, and adding your unique voice to enhance the comedic and dramatic elements. This is an excellent opportunity to get your work produced and gain valuable experience on an independent production. We need someone who has a strong grasp of comedic timing and character development, ideally with some prior screenwriting samples or academic projects to share. While no specific gear is required, proficiency with screenwriting software (e.g., Final Draft, Celtx) is expected. The project has a target shoot date in the second half of September 2026, which will be a 2-day shoot. This role offers deferred payment, with an understanding that all contributors share in the film's success once it secures distribution or festival awards. We're a small, passionate team based in London, UK, and this role can be worked remotely with regular check-ins.
