Production Designer, Doc Series (Revenue Share)

Hey everyone, Garrett Stone here. I’m a Prop Master by trade, and I’m putting together a crew for an upcoming independent documentary series. We’re deep diving into the bizarre and wonderful world of niche collectors, focusing on the human stories behind the obsessions. Think quirky, intimate, and visually rich. It’s a passion project with a lot of heart, and we’re looking for a sharp mid-level Production Designer to help us bring these unique worlds to life. Your main gig will be designing and executing the visual aesthetics for each segment, from scouting locations with an eye for potential, to overseeing set dressing, props, and overall art direction. We’ll be shooting interviews and some stylized observational scenes. You’ll be working closely with me on the props side, obviously, and helping to maintain a cohesive look across multiple varied locations. We’re looking for someone with a strong portfolio showcasing a knack for storytelling through design, especially in unscripted content. You don’t need to own a full art department kit, but a good eye, resourcefulness, and a collaborative spirit are essential. Please send over your reel or relevant samples. We’re aiming for principal photography to start around late spring, early summer, with flexible hours. We’ll cover location fees and provide a modest petty cash budget for smaller acquisitions. This is a partnership opportunity, with a revenue share compensation model once the series sells, which we’re confident it will. Let's make something really cool.
