Production Designer, Sci-Fi Short (Seoul)

An independent production is seeking a talented Production Designer to join our small, dedicated team for an upcoming sci-fi short film. This project is a visually driven, atmospheric piece exploring themes of memory and artificial intelligence, set in a near-future Seoul. We are looking for someone creative with an eye for unique aesthetics to help bring our ambitious vision to life. Key responsibilities include concept development, set decoration, prop sourcing, and collaborating closely with the director and VFX supervisor to ensure a cohesive visual style. You'll be instrumental in defining the look and feel of our world. We require applicants to have mid-level experience in production design, ideally with a portfolio showcasing work on short films or similar projects. Access to basic set dressing tools and a network for local prop rentals in Seoul is a plus. While we don't anticipate extensive set builds, your ability to adapt existing locations will be key. We anticipate a 3-week prep period starting late September 2026, leading into a 2-day shoot in early October 2026. This is a partnership opportunity, offering revenue share from festival and distribution proceeds. We'll provide location access and a small budget for materials and specific props.
