Production Designer, Sci-Fi Thriller Short

Independent production company is seeking a talented Production Designer for an upcoming short film, a sci-fi thriller with a grounded, atmospheric tone. We're looking for someone who can bring a distinctive visual style, making the most of practical locations and creating impactful, believable environments on a limited budget. This is a crucial role, shaping the entire look and feel of the film. You'll be responsible for translating the script's visual requirements into tangible sets, props, and overall aesthetics, working closely with the director and the rest of the art department. We require applicants to have mid-level experience in production design for narrative projects, a strong portfolio showcasing your creative vision, and excellent organizational skills. Experience with low-budget creative solutions is a big plus. Shoot dates are TBD, likely 3-4 days in late August or early September 2026, primarily in London. We're looking at 10-12 hour days. A small art department budget will be provided, along with access to some prop houses. This is a paid position, offering $1000-1500 per day, dependent on experience and scope.
