Production for Documentary

Hey filmmakers! I'm Darius, a Best Boy Electric, and I'm helping an indie team find a talented Camera Assistant for an upcoming documentary project here in Atlanta. This feature is a really fascinating deep-dive into the local underground music scene, focusing on the stories behind some of the city's most unique artists. We're looking for someone with a good eye for detail and a solid understanding of camera workflows, who can keep things running smoothly on set. Your primary duties will include assisting the DP with camera builds, lens changes, media management, and keeping our gear organized and prepped. We're looking for someone who can anticipate needs and troubleshoot quickly. Some experience with documentary shooting environments is a plus, and while you don't need to own a full camera package for this role, familiarity with common cinema cameras (like Sony FX series, Canon C series) is helpful. A reel demonstrating your camera assistant work, even on smaller projects, would be great to see. We anticipate shooting over roughly 10-12 days spread across late spring and early summer, typically 10-hour days. Compensation is $250/day (flat rate).
