Production for Feature Film

An independent production is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1st Assistant Director for an upcoming dramatic feature film. This project is a character-driven drama with elements of psychological thriller, set against the backdrop of a small Texas town. We aim for a grounded, intense tone, exploring themes of resilience and consequence. It's a compelling story with a lean, efficient approach to filmmaking, perfect for a 1st AD who thrives in a collaborative, focused environment. Key responsibilities include managing the daily schedule, overseeing cast and crew calls, ensuring efficient set operations, and maintaining a positive, professional atmosphere. You'll be instrumental in keeping us on track and on budget while balancing creative needs. We need someone who can anticipate challenges and proactively solve problems. Candidates must have at least three feature film credits as a 1st AD or a strong equivalent background in long-form narrative production. Experience working with independent crews and a solid understanding of Austin's production landscape are highly valued. Please include a resume and references with your application.
