Production for Short Film

Seeking a 1st AC (Focus Puller) for a 1-day short film shoot, offering deferred payment via a backend percentage. Our independent production is a compelling, intimate sci-fi drama exploring themes of memory and connection, with a grounded, atmospheric tone. This is a fantastic opportunity for an entry-level professional to gain experience on a narrative project with strong visual potential. Key responsibilities include precise focus pulling, camera maintenance, lens changes, and assisting the Cinematographer on set. We're looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and has a strong understanding of camera systems, particularly mirrorless or small cinema cameras. Applicants should have their own essential toolkit (tape measure, marking pens, monitor, focus wheels, etc.). Having your own camera body or lens kit is a plus but not required, as main camera gear will be provided. Please provide a brief reel or examples of previous work demonstrating your focus pulling skills, even if from student projects or personal shoots. Shoot dates are provisionally set for around September 27, 2026, with one additional prep day around September 20, 2026. This will be a standard 10-12 hour shoot day in various locations across London, UK. Meals, travel expenses within London, and on-set refreshments will be provided.
