Screenwriter, Austin Pilot (Remote OK)

Filming for this independent comedy pilot will take place in Austin, TX, mostly during late November or early December 2026. We're looking for a talented screenwriter to help shape the narrative for an exciting new project. This pilot is a dark comedy, exploring the absurdities of modern life through the lens of a small-town conspiracy. We're aiming for a tone that's quirky, sharp, and genuinely funny, with a surprising amount of heart. The script needs to balance comedic timing with character-driven storytelling, making for an engaging and memorable first episode. We already have a strong concept and outline, but need a writer to bring it to life with compelling dialogue and a tight structure. You'll be responsible for drafting, revising, and polishing the pilot script based on our creative direction. We're open to all experience levels, from emerging talent to seasoned pros. A portfolio or writing samples showcasing your unique voice, especially in comedy or character-driven work, is essential. You'll work remotely, collaborating closely with the director and producers through virtual meetings. This is a paid position, offering $300-500 per day, based on experience and scope of work, for approximately 3-4 weeks of writing. Your compensation will cover all writing services.
